Location of the Fort:

This Fort is located at a distance of 15 Km from Alwar city on the top of a hill made of the rare, dark Hornstone Breccia rocks in town Kesroli, District Alwar, Rajasthan.

History of the Fort:

It was built in the 14th Century A.D. by the Yadhuvanshi Rajputs, the descendants of Lord Krishna, who converted to Islam in the mid-14th Century A.D. and hence were named Khanzadas. It was occupied at different times by the Mughals, the Jats and finally by the Rajputs in 1775 A.D. The Ranawat Thakur Bhawani Singh (1882-1934 A.D.) was its most distinguished ruler.

Architecture of the Fort:

Its rampart walls rise to a height of 150-200 feet which have 7 bastions at intervals and it provides a panoramic view of the fields spread around it.

Visiting Hours in the Fort:

This Fort was handed over by its owner, Thakur Mangal Singh in the year 1995 to the Neemrana Group of Hotels on a revenue sharing model. Now, it has been converted into a Heritage Hotel and it is the oldest Heritage Hotel in India.
