Location of Old Rang Nath Ji Temple:
This Temple is situated at a distance of 11 Km Northwest of Ajmer City in the sacred town Pushkar, District Ajmer, Rajasthan. It is dedicated to Lord Rangji, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
History of the Temple:
This Temple is also known as Shri Rangnath Venugopal Temple. It was built by Seth Pooran Mal Ganeriwal of Hyderabad in 1823 A.D.
Architecture of the Temple:
This Temple is known for its unique architecture which is a fine blend of the South Indian, the Rajput and the Mughal styles. It is a single storeyed temple with an elaborate façade. There are two projecting alcoves surmounted by Bengali dome & having foliated arches. The four corners of the shrine have cupolas surmounted by domes. The Temple belongs to the Paushkar Sect. of Shri Vaishnava Sampradaya. The idols of Narasimha, Lakshmi and Venugopal are installed here.
