The Army Institute of Technology is an Un-Aided, Co-Educational, Non-Autonomous, Private, Non-Minority Institute; Set up in the year 1994. It functions under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) and has the Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army (COAS), as the President of its Board of Governors.

Eligibility in Army Institute of Technology
Appeared or Passed the (10+2) CBSE exam or the Indian School Certificate (10+2 or XII) ISC exam or its equivalent Higher Secondary (Std. XII) Certificate Exam from a recognized Board/University with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject. Obtained at least 50% marks in each of the subjects.
The candidate must be an Indian citizen, or a person of Indian origin from any foreign country but who intends to settle permanently in India and obtains Indian citizenship before admission to AIT. The candidate should be the Child of serving Army personnel, retired Army personnel and war widows of the Army. The parent should have completed minimum 10 years of service in the Army.
Admission Procedure in Army Institute of Technology
The admission is based on the merit/ rank in the JEE (Main) Paper 1 conducted by National Testing Agency (For details visit www.nta.ac.in or https://jeemain.nta.nic.in). The candidates are required to fill AIT Online Application on Website (www.aitpune.com) in the month of March after receipt of JEE (Main) Roll Number (Exam seat Number). The admission at AIT, Pune, takes place within two weeks after the date of declaration of JEE (Main) Paper 1 All India Rank. The admission schedule and Joining Instructions are hosted on the AIT Website www.aitpune.com in the month of June.
Duration
Four Academic years comprising of 8 Semesters.

  • M.E. Mechanical Engineering Design
    Seats – 18 (1st Shift)
Eligibility in Army Institute of Technology
The candidate must be an Indian citizen, or a person of Indian origin from any foreign country but who intends to settle permanently in India and obtains Indian citizenship before admission to AIT. The candidate should be the Child of serving Army personnel, retired Army personnel and war widows of the Army. The candidate should have passed Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant branch of Engineering & Technology from AICTE or Central or State Government approved Institutions or equivalent with 50% marks.
For M.E. Mechanical Engineering Design: Passed (or appeared in the final year exam) in B.E./ B.Tech. in Automotive Design/ Automobile Engg./ Industrial & Production Engg./ Industrial Engg./ Mechanical & Automation Engg./ Mechanical & Energy/ Mechanical Automation Engg./ Mechanical Engg./ Mechanical Engg. (Sandwich)/ Production Engg./ Production Engg. (Sandwich) with valid GATE score in ME/PI.
Admission Procedure in Army Institute of Technology
The admission is based on the score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted jointly by the IISc and all the IITs.
All the eligible candidates are required to fill the Application form for admission which is made available on the AIT Website (www.aitpune.com) in the month of June/July every year. The date of merit list/admission is displayed on Institute’s Website.
Duration
Two Academic years comprising of 4 Semesters.
Fee Structure of Army Institute of Technology
The Fee to be paid for different courses for the year 2018-2019 in Army Institute of Technology is as follows:
  • The fee for B.E. Course (1st year) is Rs. 1,33,530/-. The Hostel, Mess & Other Charges are Rs. 69,005/-, the Refundable Security Deposit is Rs. 20,000/- & the fee for Value Added Courses is Rs. 5,000/-.
  • The Tuition fee for M.E. Course (1st year) is Rs. 95,000/-.
