First Year of Engineering & Technology:
For Maharashtra State Candidates: The candidate should be an Indian National and Passed the HSC or its equivalent exam with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects with 50% marks in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology with 50% marks. OR Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by the UGC with 50% marks. These candidates should have qualified MHT-CET.
For All India Candidates/ J&K Migrant Candidates: Same as for M.S. Candidates. These candidates should have qualified MHT-CET/ JEE (Main) Paper-1.
For B.E. Agricultural Engineering: XII Std. (Science) passed in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics OR Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology. The candidates who have passed qualifying exam without Biology have to complete deficiency courses as prescribed by respective university.
For B.E. Biotechnology: XII Std. (Science) passed in 10+2 pattern from Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent Exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology OR Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology OR Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. The candidates who have passed qualifying exam without Biology/ Mathematics have to complete deficiency courses as prescribed by respective university.
Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry):
For M.S. Candidates/ All India Candidates: The candidate should be an Indian National and should have Passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology with 45% marks in appropriate Branch of Engineering & Technology from an AICTE or Central or State Govt. approved Institution. OR Passed B.Sc. Degree from a UGC or AIU recognized University with 45% marks and passed HSC with Mathematics as a subject, provided that students belonging to this category shall clear the subjects of Engg. Graphics/ Engg. Drawing & Engg. Mechanics of the first year Engineering Program along with second year subjects.
Note: The BC/ PwD applicants, belonging to Maharashtra State only, are given a relaxation of 5% of marks in the minimum eligibility requirement.

First Year of Engineering & Technology:
All the eligible candidates are required to apply to the Competent Authority for admission through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by DTE, Maharashtra (For details visit www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in).
The Maharashtra State Seats [Home University (HU) seats, Other than Home University (OHU) seats] & Supernumerary Seats under TFWS are filled through CAP on the basis of the score in MHT-CET conducted by State CET Cell, Govt. of Maharashtra (For details visit www.mahacet.org).
The All India Seats & Supernumerary Seats for J&K Migrant Candidates are filled through CAP on the basis of the score in MHT-CET/ JEE (Main) Paper 1 conducted by National Testing Agency (For details visit www.nta.ac.in or https://jeemain.nta.nic.in).
For Institutional Quota Seats: the M.S. Candidates/ All India Candidates/ J&K Migrant Candidates are eligible. These candidates are required to apply initially to the Competent Authority & then apply to KIT’s College of Engineering Kolhapur for admission at the Institution level. These seats are filled on the basis of the score in MHT-CET/ JEE (Main) Paper-1.
For B.E. Agricultural Engineering: The admission is based on the score in MHT-CET (PCM) conducted by State CET Cell, Govt. of Maharashtra (For details visit www.mahacet.org).
For B.Tech. Biotechnology: The admission is based on the score in MHT-CET (PCB/ PCM) conducted by State CET Cell, Govt. of Maharashtra (For details visit www.mahacet.org).
Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry):
All the eligible candidates are required to apply to the Competent Authority for admission through CAP conducted by DTE, Maharashtra. The admission is based on the marks secured in the qualifying exam (For details visit www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in).

Four Academic years comprising of 8 Semesters, Three Academic years comprising of 6 Semesters for lateral entry candidates.

For M.S. Candidates/ All India Candidates:
For Non-Sponsored Candidates: The candidate should be an Indian National and Passed Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant branch of Engineering & Technology from AICTE or Central or State Government approved Institutions or equivalent with 50% marks (45% marks for BC/ PwD applicants belonging to Maharashtra State only).
For Sponsored Candidates: Minimum of 2 years of full time work experience in a registered Firm/ Company/ Industry/ Educational and/or Research Institute/ any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being sought.
For M.E. Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology: Passed (or appeared in the final year exam) in B.E./ B.Tech. in Bio Technology/ Chemical Engg./ Chemical Technology with valid GATE score in BT.
For M.E. Civil & Structural Engineering: Passed (or appeared in the final year exam) in B.E./ B.Tech. in Civil & Water Management Engg./ Civil Engg./ Construction Engg./ Energy & Environmental/ Environmental Engg./ Environmental Science & Technology/ Structural Engg./ Town & Country Planning with valid GATE score in CE.
For M.E. CSE (Data Science): Passed (or appeared in the final year exam) in B.E./ B.Tech. in Computer Hardware & Software/ Information Technology/ Computer Science/ Computer Engg. or Technology/ Computer Science & Engg. or Technology/ Biomedical/ Biomedical Instrumentation/ Medical Electronics/ Process Electronics/ Bio Instrumentation/ Bio Medical Engg./ Electrical & Electronics (Power System)/ Computer Telecommunication/ Electrical & Electronics Engg./ Electrical & Power Engg./ Electrical Engg. (Electrical & Power)/ Electrical Engg. (Electronics & Power)/ Electrical Engg./ Electronics & Power Engg./ Electronics & Communication Engg. or Technology/ Electronics & Instrumentation Engg./ Electronics & Telecommunication Engg./ Electronics & Telecommunication Engg. (Technologynician Electronic Radio)/ Electronics Design Technology/ Electronics Product Design Technology/ Electronics Engg. or Technology/ Industrial Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engg./ Instrumentation Engg./ Power Electronics OR 5-yrs integrated M.Sc. in Information Technology/ Computer Science/ Software Engg. (with 3-yrs B.Sc. in IT related major) OR 2-yrs M.Sc. in Information Technology/ Computer Science OR M.C.A (10+2+3+3) years Pattern with valid GATE score in CS/EE/EC/IN.
For M.E. Embedded System & Computing: Passed (or appeared in the final year exam) in B.E./ B.Tech. in Process Electronics/ Bio Instrumentation/ Electronics & Communication Engg. or Technology/ Electronics & Instrumentation Engg./ Electronics & Telecommunication Engg./ Electronics & Telecommunication Engg. (Technologynician Electronic Radio)/ Electronics Design Technology/ Electronics Product Design Technology/ Electronics Engg. or Technology/ Industrial Electronics/ Power Electronics/ Telecommunication Engg. with valid GATE score in EC.
For M.E. Environmental Engineering: Passed (or appeared in the final year exam) in B.E./ B.Tech. in Civil & Water Management Engg./ Civil Engg./ Construction Engg./ Energy & Environmental Engg./ Environmental Engg./ Environmental Science & Technology/ Structural Engg./ Town & Country Planning with valid GATE score in CE.
For M.E. Mechanical Engineering: Passed (or appeared in the final year exam) in B.E./ B.Tech. in Automotive Design/ Automobile Engg./ Machine Tool Engg./ Manufacturing Engg./ Mechanical & Automation Engg./ Mechanical & Energy/ Mechanical Automation Engg./ Mechanical Engg./ Mechanical Engineering (Sandwich)/ Power Engg. with valid GATE score in ME.

The admission is based on the score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted jointly by the IISc and all the IITs.
For Maharashtra State Seats [Non-Sponsored & Sponsored seats]: the GATE qualified & eligible candidates are required to fill up & submit Online Application form on the Website (www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in) & participate in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by DTE, Maharashtra (For details visit www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in).
For Institutional Quota Seats [Non-Sponsored & Sponsored seats]: the M.S. Candidates/ All India Candidates are eligible.
