Location of Bagore Ki Haveli:

This magnificent haveli is located at Gangori Ghat on the banks of Lake Pichhola in Udaipur City, District Udaipur, Rajasthan.

History of Bagore Ki Haveli:

It was built by Amir Chand Badwa, who was the Prime Minister of Mewar during the rule of Maharana Pratap Singh II, Maharana Raj Singh II, Maharana Ari Singh II and Maharana Hamir Singh II between 1751 to 1778 A.D. After the death of Amir Chand Badwa, it came under occupation of the rulers of Udaipur. In the year 1878 A.D., Maharana Shakti Singh of Bagore occupied it and added three more stories. Since then the Haveli came to be known as ‘Bagore Ki Haveli’ and remained in occupation of the rulers of Udaipur until India’s independence in 1947. In the year 1986, it was handed over to West Zone Cultural Centre which renovated the Haveli and converted it into a Museum displaying the medieval architecture and the life style of the erstwhile royal family.
