Location of Mathuradheesh Temple:

This Temple is situated at a distance of 7 Km from Kota Railway Station at Patanpol, District Kota, Rajasthan.

History of Mathuradheesh Temple:

It is dedicated to Lord Mathuradheesh Ji (Lord Krishna).

In the year 1738 A.D., the idol of Shri Mathuradheesh Ji was brought to Kota. The chariot carrying the idol stopped in front of the haveli of the Rai Dwarkadassji, the Minister to the King of Kota. When the chariot did not move ahead despite all efforts made, Rai Dwarkadassji prayed to the Goswami Gopinathji to install the idol in his haveli. After this, the chariot moved and went into the haveli where the idol is enshrined.

Architecture of Mathuradheesh Temple:

The Temple is built of stone and lime mortar in haveli style of architecture. It has a big main gate leading to a big chowk. The square-shaped Sanctum Sanctorum has the black stone idol of Lord Krishna installed on a stone seat.
