First Year of Engineering & Technology:
Passed 10+2 or Class 12th Exam or any other equivalent exam with Language, Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD applicants) in the above subjects taken together.
All those candidates who have passed their qualifying exam from the Schools/Colleges located in the U.T. of Chandigarh and recognized by the Chandigarh Administration are eligible for State Quota (Chandigarh) Seats. All Other candidates who have passed their qualifying exam from elsewhere are eligible for All India Quota Seats. For Seats under Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme – The candidates should have passed the qualifying exam in 1st class in 60% marks & his/her total family income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh per year.
Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry):
Passed 3 year Diploma in Engineering with 60% marks in aggregate (55% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD applicants) from an AICTE or Central or State Govt. approved Institution. The candidate should have completed Matriculation Exam with Physics & Mathematics.

The admission for State Quota Seats/ All India Quota Seats and Supernumerary Seats for Kashmiri Migrants & Under TFWS is based on the merit/ rank in the JEE (Main) Paper 1 conducted by National Testing Agency (For details visit www.nta.ac.in or https://jeemain.nta.nic.in). The On-line Counselling for admission is conducted by the Joint Admission Committee (JAC), for which the On-line Registration starts in the month of May/June every year (For details visit http://chdenggadmissions.nic.in/jaccms/public/home.aspx).

The admission is based on the score in the Panjab University Lateral Engineering Entrance Test (PULEET) conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh at Chandigarh. The admission is based on the score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering GATE conducted jointly by the IISc and all the IITs’. The seats remaining vacant, thereafter, are filled on the basis of PU-CET (P.G.) Entrance Test conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh and an Interview. The duration of the Entrance Test is 1 hour 30 minutes and it consists of 75 multiple choice questions of one mark each. The syllabus is based broadly on the course contents generally covered during the qualifying examinations. For preparing the merit list, 50% weightage is given to PU-CET (P.G.) score & 50% to the Academic Performance (For details visit http://cetpg.puchd.ac.in).
