These Spectacular and Gorgeous Sand Dunes are located at a distance of 46 Km. Southwest of Jaisalmer City and 1 Km. from Village Khuri on the fringes of the Thar Desert, District Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

The delightfully peaceful Village Khuri has narrow streets, a local bazaar and houses ornamented with mud and straw. The Village also has many accommodations for the tourists like the Badal House, Mama Guest House etc. The best way to visit these sand dunes is by taking a Camel safari from Village Khuri which is arranged by the owners of these guest houses. The owners of these guest houses can also arrange stay in the desert in the night and provide the quilts, mattresses, blankets and tents. The food for the night is prepared by the owners of the Camels.
The entire area of these sand dunes have some shrubs and bushes unlike the Sam sand dunes which are completely barren. The major attractions of the place are a ride on the Camel – the ship of desert in the desert sea and the performances by beautiful folk dancers and singers. The immense natural beauty of the area has made these sand dunes, one of the most popular places of tourist interest in District Jaisalmer of Rajasthan. The best time to visit the place is from the month of October to February and that too during sunrise or sunset, while some Camel safaris spend a night here providing an opportunity to sleep out in the open facing the twinkling star-studded sky. The camping at the Khuri sand dunes can be an out of the World experience.
