First Year of Engineering & Technology:
Passed the Higher Secondary School Exam or equivalent Class 12th exam conducted by a recognized Central/ State Board with Physics, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject (recognized by AICTE). Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
Note: The maximum age of the candidate should not be more than 25 years on 31st July of the year of admission. For SC/ ST/ PwD applicants, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry):
Passed the Diploma in Engineering in the relevant branch OR Degree in Bachelor of Science (with Mathematics as a subject in XII standard), with a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ ST/ PwD applicants) in the aggregate.
Note 1: The maximum age of the candidate should not be more than 26 years on 31st July of the year of admission. For SC/ ST/ PwD applicants, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
Note 2: The students belonging to B.Sc. Stream have to clear the subjects Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering Programme along with the second-year subjects.

First Year of Engineering & Technology:
The Manipur Technical University invites On-line Applications in the month of May/June every year. All the candidates are required to register & fill the Application form On-line only. The admission is based on the merit/ rank in the JEE (Main) Paper 1 conducted by National Testing Agency (For details visit www.nta.ac.in or https://jeemain.nta.nic.in). The seats remaining vacant, thereafter, are filled on the basis of marks secured in an Entrance Exam conducted by MTU at the University Campus. The Centralized Counselling for admission is conducted by MTU (For details visit http://mtu.ac.in).
Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry):
The admission is based on the score in an Entrance Exam conducted by MTU in the month of June/July at the University Campus (For details visit http://mtu.ac.in).
Note: The students belonging to B.Sc. Stream are considered only after filling the Supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream.
