First Year of Engineering & Technology:
Passed H.S.C. Exam of the (10+2) curriculum (Academic stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu or Any Other Exam equivalent thereto with minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for ST/ SC applicants) in aggregate of subjects – Mathematics, Physics, and any one of the following optional subjects : Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Biology (Botany & Zoology) OR An Exam of any University or Authority recognized by the executive Council of the Pondicherry University as equivalent thereto.
The candidate should not have completed 21 years of age as on 1st July of the academic year under consideration. In the case of SC/ST applicants, the age limit is relaxable by 3 years.
Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry):
Pass in Three year Diploma or Four year Sandwich Diploma course in Engineering/ Technology from AICTE approved Institution with at least 45% marks (40% marks for OBC/ SC/ ST applicants) in aggregate in the subjects covered from 3rd to final semester OR Pass in B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% marks for OBC/ SC/ ST applicants) and passed XII Std. with Mathematics as a subject provided further that, the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream are considered only after filling the superannuary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream. There is no age limit.
