They started with relatively in expensive but widely used things like cables and batteries, and today, they sell all sorts of products under wide array of categories which we will briefly discuss in this post.

Why did Amazon create Amazon Basics?
Similar to how almost every brand have their own sub brands, Amazon Basics is Amazon’s private label brand. In addition to this Amazon has brands like Symbol, Solimo, Vedaka, MYX, Lymio, Jam & Honey, Presto, among a few others.
The main idea behind starting the Amazon Basics lineup of things was, well of course to earn money as a business, but also to provide us with the best quality products at the cheapest rates.

Now that they are allowing for the house brand (Amazon) to speak for itself, no business will allow that name to be dented by selling you substandard goods. Hence, they make sure the best quality products are delivered to you. They match the quality of the best products in the market.
I agree that initially the products were somewhere between the good and great, but they have improved the quality a lot. I personally use a lot of Amazon Basics products everyday and I have been using their Washing Machine for the past almost 3 years now.
