The only rock-cut Caves in the State of Rajasthan are located at a distance of 90 Km from Jhalawar City on the top of a hill to the Southwest of Village Kolvi, District Jhalawar, Rajasthan.

These ancient Buddhist Caves, believed to date back to the 5th Century A.D., have great Historic and Archaeological Importance.

These man made caves are 35 in number, excavated in the soft stone on the North, South and East Sides. A colossal figure of Buddha and the carved stupas are the most impressive structures in the Buddhist caves. A temple decorated with carvings of chakras and bells and an assembly hall are the other attractions. These Caves prove the existence of a flourishing civilization several Centuries ago and the Buddhist influence in the region.
Similar ancient caves are also found in the nearby Vinayaka and Hathiagod villages, located at a distance of about 6 to 8 km from each other.
